The decision to combine Media with Digital wasn’t taken lightly this year but seems to have paid off with encouraging entry levels and increasing support within the regional Media community.
The media landscape continues to change and the challenges faced by both agencies and media owners are increasingly tough – combine this with the huge increases in digital spend across the board and it means that to be successful in media these days you have to show great innovation and creativity in order to deliver great results.
And that is exactly what each and everyone of the shortlisted entrants did this year within the Media categories. Fantastic.
Yes, it’s been a trying year for many with plenty of budget cuts and tightening of belts, but the work this year proved that by leading from the front and applying ingenuity to any project, great results and a healthy return on investment can be achieved.
The roll call of success at the Media Awards this year is impressive with the likes of Mediaedge:cia, CBS Outdoor, GMG Radio, Universal McCann, Feather Brooksbank, IPC and MediaVest all scooping awards.
But a special mention must go to PHD North and News International who not only won category awards but also picked up coveted awards for Freshest Media Agency and Freshest Media Brand respectively. And we mustn’t forget SKV who also did rather well for their J’aime la Tour work for the NWDA and Mark Worth from PHD North who won the One to Watch in Media.
We will deliver the review we promised last year at some point and give the Media community a chance to shape Fresh in the future. But for now, give yourselves a well earned slap on the back. You deserve it!
